Business Manager
DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The role of the Business Manager is expected to deliver the planned annual sales & profit target within the Grocery & Drug channel business, while managing trade effectively. The person will work in close collaboration with cross-functions within Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Brand, Retail Sales, Finance & Supply Chain to achieve the company’s goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering Annual Net Sales & Profit targets
Accurately forecasting sales volume & trade dollars.
Developing, implementing and evaluating trade and shopper marketing initiatives, based on insights.
Maximization of trade investments and efficiencies aligned to business objectives.
Business and category analysis. Developing & presenting category management solutions.
Ensuring new products are listed and distribution gaps are filled.
Strategizing customer business initiatives & developing joint business plans with customers.
Negotiating annual agreements, promo activity, listing fees, price increases & costing with customer.
Maximizing all sales opportunities through alignment & support from the Retail Team
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-Secondary or equivalent related industry experience
3+ yrs. Consumer-packaged goods, head quarter account management
Experience calling on Loblaw Companies and Shopper’s Drugmart is an asset
•Understanding of the natural channel go to market strategies is and asset
Strong analytical skills & proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of customer specific software and understanding and interpreting A.C.N is an asset:
•Superior collaboration and project management skills
Solid presentation skills & ability to persuade/sell to all levels of the customer organization
Strong Financial acumen and great communication/sales skills
A results oriented, proven achiever, with the resolve to "make-it-happen". Proactive & problem solver.
Occasional overnight travel may be required (quarterly)
